What I love most about living in California is that has a little bit of everything. From beautiful beaches by the ocean, snow covered mountains, beautiful forests and of course, the desert.
And it is all just a few hours away, making it super easy to go on an impulsive mini vacation and make it feel like you have traveled to a whole new world.
One of my favorite places to go for a road trip is definitely Palm Springs, you know, the land of Coachella which I am sure many of you have heard of or even been to.
This little piece of heaven is located in the desert, just a couple hours away from L.A and what I love the most about this place is the second I get out of the car I feel so relaxed. It is such a calm and nice place it is impossible to feel anything else but peace.
The wind is nice and warm, the landscape is absolutely breathtaking and no matter what hotel or restaurant you go to, it is such a beautiful mix of modern style mixed with a little bit of nostalgia. It is like Beverly Hills had a baby with the Wild West, and the outcome turned out just perfect.
The Parker Palm Springs is definitely my favorite hotel to stay at, it has the most lovely interior design, gorgeous gardens with everything from a Tennis court, swimming pools. amazing restaurants and several cute little areas with different fruit trees, fountains and around every corner is a little hammock to relax in. Lovely restaurants to. This is a place you can stay at for a week and not even feel the need to leave the hotel.
This Easter we stayed at The Ritz-Carlton and I must say its a close race for the first place between these to. First of, The Ritz Carlton is higher up in the mountains and has an absolutely unbeatable view!
They have a restaurant called The Edge Steakhouse , which is fitting because it literally is right there on the edge. If you ever go to Palm Springs, do yourself a favor and book a table at this restaurant because it is seriously the total package of amazing food, excellent service and stunning views.
The only reason why The Parker took first place for me is simply because i liked the whole atmosphere of the hotel better, besides from that, both of these hotels have everything you can ever wish for on a vacation.
Also, before you go home, take sure to take a stroll downtown and have a look at some of the crystal stores while you have some homemade ice cream and maybe a margarita at the Mexican restaurant with live music and warm tortilla chips with chunky guacamole and juicy carnitas. You will not be disappointed!
